Use Of Lemon And Lime

Lemon is a versatile remedy to all almost all skin problems! And it is very easily available at all households. Take the lemon juice of one or two lemons and mix it with a teaspoon of water. Apply this mixture gently and preferably with a soft towel in the affected skin. You will find instant relief from the pain and your skin will gradually heal.

Honey and lime juice make for a really delicious and pampering cream for your sunburns. Simply mix a dollop of honey with the juice of one lime and mix it well. It is also ok to use a moisturizer infused with aloe vera but if possible, try and extract the fresh juice from an aloe vera plant and apply it on your sun burns. Some people find great relief from sunburns by using essential oils like lavender and chamomile. Take a bowl full of water and pour around ten drops of essential oil in it and apply it on your skin. You can alternately also use essential oils in your bath water and it will help you cool off as well.

Many people consider hydrotherapy to be one of the most effective ways of dealing with sunburns, being exposed to the sun for long hours leaves you and your skin dehydrated. So what your skin desperately requires is some water. You can try hitting the bath right after you reach home.

If the water is cool it is even better. You can add some baking soda to the water or some honey for better results. A nice relaxing bath will soften your skin, moisture it and nourish it. While you are in the bath you can pop your mildest moisturizer in the freezer and apply it after you emerge from the bath.

This way you will soothe and nourish the aggravated skin, while replenishing it with moisture! However you must remember never to use soap or cosmetic body washes on your sun burned skin, it can affect the skin negatively.

Drink lots of water when you are in the sun for too long, your body is dehydrated along with your skin. Do not forget that! For instant relief you can apply cold compress with an ice pack on your skin. However, never apply a direct compress. Wrap the ice pack in a towel and press it gently against your skin. Follow this with the use of moisturizers to find relief from sunburns!
