Eczema is a well-known name in medical science. It belongs to the group of dermatitis of the epidermis. Dryness and frequent skin rashes are the main symptoms of this skin disease. Sometimes, there are more than one symptoms may be observed. These may be skin swelling, inflammation, crusting, blistering, flaking and bleeding too.

This disease may affect neck, face, hands, wrists, arms, chest and back portion of knees. There are different kinds of causes of eczema like varicose veins, allergies, cold and dry weather, malfunction of body etc.

Turmeric As Home Remedy

Being a very strong anti-inflammatory, turmeric is used as the best home remedy for eczema. It is natural and has no side effects.  Adding turmeric in daily diet is proven beneficial to fight against the eczema. In taking of a mixture of ½ tbsp of turmeric powder and a glass of water will keep the eczema away.

Without this, an aqueous solution of turmeric powder is also very effective in eczema. To prepare this solution, a mixture of 3 tbsp turmeric powder and a little amount of water should be added. Then this mixture let on the simmer for several minutes. Now keep it aside from the oven and let it cool.

After few minutes it becomes ready to use. Now this solution should be applied to wash the affected areas. Regular usage of this solution is very effective to give positive result rapidly.

Useful Home Remedies

The easiest home remedy for eczema is sunbathing. It destroys the bacteria which causes eczema. Applying coconut oil on the affected site can be proved a very good treatment of this disease. Coconut oil makes the skin remain soft. A fine paste of 1teaspoon sandalwood and 1teaspoon camphor should be used to cure the eczema for ever.

Using a mudpack on the eczema affected areas is very popular too. A smooth paste of nutmeg and water is very beneficial to cure it. Water treatment like cold-wet fomentation or cold compress is proven useful to treat eczema. Applying olive oil on the affected site reduces the tendency of itching.

Some home remedies can be taken as regular diet. Foods that contain vitamin A, vitamin complex, vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acid, and low omega-6 keep the skin healthy and cured. Yogurt can fight against dermatitis like eczema.

Frequently Used Herbal Remedies

Tea tree oil is a very popular to fight against skin diseases. It is also beneficial in prevention of eczema.  It should be diluted and mixed with olive oil or walnut oil before applying.  Tea tree oil is very effective with the Vaseline too. Being a good emollient and moisturizer, Shea nut butter can also be used to treat this skin disease. The bark of babul tree is most effectual in eczema.

Madhuca leaves applying with sesame oil is used often in treatment of eczema. Rinsing the affected areas with honey gives relief from itching caused by the disease. To reduce the inflammation due to eczema you can use chamomile, aloe gel, rosemary. But all of the remedies stated above will be effective only when these are utilized methodically and regularly as directed.
