Taking one or two guavas per day is an effective remedy for constipation. When eaten with seed, it provides roughage to diet and helps in the normal evacuation of the bowels. Grapes have proved very beneficial in overcoming constipation. It is combination of laxative food properties of the cellulose, sugar, and organic acid.
It not only cleans the bowel but also tone up the stomach and the intestines to relieve the most chronic constipation. If fresh grapes are not available use raisins soaked in water overnight. Orange is also beneficial in constipation. One or two oranges twice daily help in stimulating bowels.

Food should be properly chewed, hurried meals and meals at odd times should be avoided. Do not eat Sugar and sugary foods. White flour, rice, bread, pulses, cakes, pastries, biscuits, cheese, hard boiled eggs are factors responsible for constipations.
Fresh air, outdoor games, walking, swimming and exercise play an important role in strengthening the muscles, and thereby prevent constipation.In constipation, improvement takes place within a matter of days or weeks. If relief is not observed for three to four weeks, seek physicians advice immediately.
