Water and Fluids
This is probably the best remedy for any type of infection of the bladder. Increase the water intake if you are suffering from the infection. Step up from the regular 8 glasses a day to as much as you can drink and see that you urinate every 4 to 5 hours.
Remember that the more the urine stays in the bladder, the more will it help in growth of bacteria. Also, drink as much of other fluids as you can. This will help you to flush out the bacteria. The fluids will also help in soothing the burning sensation that one usually experiences with bladder infection.

If you can drink half a cup of lemon juice mixed with water in the morning for about 2 weeks, it will help a lot in this condition. Also you can prepare a drink with 2 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and a teaspoon of honey in a glass of water and drink it for fast recovery.
The high acidic nature of the urine that one experiences during bladder infection can be relieved to quite some extent by drinking a mixture of 1 teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water. The soda helps to neutralize the acid in the urine giving a soothing sensation.

Blueberries and Cranberries
These are the two types of berries that are said to have anti bacterial properties. So it can be very helpful if you can drink blueberry juice.
If you do not find prepared juice over the counter, then you can make it at home or even eat the whole berries at it will also provide some pulp which is good for digestion.

Cranberry juice is usually available in the stores. To prevent any infection of the bladder drink around half a cup of cranberry juice daily. If you are already infected then increase it to 2 to 4 glasses everyday.
Olive Oil and Garlic
A concoction of one teaspoon of garlic juice and one teaspoon of olive oil in a glass of warm water has been found to be very useful in the treatment of bladder infection.

You should take this mixture three times a day before meals for the best results. Alternately, you can take a teaspoon of pure garlic juice once a day. This helps in killing the bacteria in the bladder.
Yarrow, Uva Ursi and Cornsilk Mixture
This is a concotion that is said to be effective in treatment of bladder infection. To prepare it take yarrow, uva ursi and cornsilk in equal quantities and one-and-a-half teaspoon of juniper berries. Mix them well.

Simmer 3 cups of water with a teaspoon of echinea root for about 20 minutes and soak 1½ teaspoon of the mixed herbs in this. Let it cool down and then strain the liquid and drink it. Take it for a week for good results.
