6 Home Remedies For Ear Wax RemovalRemoval of ear wax is something that we do on a weekly or monthly basis. However, the truth remains that ear wax is designed for protecting the auditory system from damage which can be caused through entry of dangerous objects through the ear canal.

Under normal circumstances ear wax does not need to be removed from the ear. It is only when the ear wax hardens and causes hearing problems and infection that one needs to think of removing it.

Certain safe methods can be adopted at home for removing ear wax. These methods can be done at home with the help of a house member. You can also do it alone if you are familiar with the procedures.

Hydrogen Peroxide

The wax that is hardened inside your ear can be melted by using a hydrogen peroxide solution. Mix one part hydrogen peroxide and one part water. Pour this into the ear drop by drop with an eye dropper.

Keep the opening of the ear in an upward position for a few minutes.  Tilt your ear downwards for the solution along with the melted ear wax to fall out. Repeat several times until all the melted wax comes out.

Mineral Oil

With an eye dropper, drop mineral oil into the ear, keeping it in an upright position. Hold in that position for 5 minutes. Tilt your head to remove the oil. Continue applying mineral oil for 3 days and remove after 5 minutes.

The wax would have melted considerably by now. Warm some water and drop in into the ear. Allow it to pour out along with the melted wax by tilting your head. Rinse several times with warm water until all the meted wax falls out.

Glycerine

Put glycerine into the ear with an eye dropper. Allow the glycerine to slide into the ear and dilute the wax by keeping your ear upright. Leave it overnight inside the ear by covering your ear opening with a cotton ball.

The next day morning remove the wax and glycerine by tilting your ear. Rinse with warm water or use apple cider vinegar that is diluted.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Add one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to ten tablespoons of warm water. Make sure that the water is not too warm.

Drop the solution into the ear canal and allow it to dilute the ear wax for 5 minutes. Drain it out after this. This can be repeated several times until the ear becomes clean.

Saline Solution

Take a glass of water and add 1/4th teaspoon of salt into it. Drop the water inside your ear and allow it to remain for 5 minutes. Tilt you head and drain the wax and water. Again, repeat many times for best results. Finally, rinse your ear with some warm water to remove the salt.

Ear Candling

This is one of the most difficult methods and very dangerous if you do not follow and understand the procedure well. Take a cloth and dip in paraffin wax and shape it into a hollow cone. The cone has to be lighted and kept in the ear. The burning action of the cone will suck out the ear wax from inside due to the suction force.
